MOS 0180, Adjutant
Adjutants serve as staff officers. They coordinate administrative matters of internal staff sections and external agencies at the staff level. Adjutants formulate and supervise the execution of command administrative policies, receiving and routing correspondence, handling and safeguarding classified material, preparing responses to special correspondence and establishing and maintaining the command reports control, and forms management programs. Typical duties and tasks of the adjutant include: casualty reporting, awards and decorations, fitness report, legal matters, and postal functions. Due to the diversity of commands throughout the Marine Corps, the duties and tasks performed by the adjutant may overlap those of the personnel officer.
