There are several types of study abroad programs to choose from at USF. The programs are categorized as Fall/Spring semester programs, summer programs, and spring break programs. All students who are interested in study abroad should speak with an advisor about the general process. The Study Abroad Office location is Cooper Hall, Room 468, Telephone: 813-974-4314.
Below are some things you should consider when choosing to study abroad and selecting the progam that will work best for you:
- What are your goals in choosing to study abroad?
- Where and when do you want to study?
- Do you want to attend a language institute or university?
- How or will the credits apply to your degree? Direct USF and/or transfer credit?
- What academic pre-approvals are required?
- What is it going to cost you?
First determine if you are eligible to study abroad:
To be eligible for a study abroad program, all Degree Seeking Student must meet the following criteria:
- be in good academic standing at the time of application, and remain in good standing at the time of their program of study.
- be a sophomore status and up at time of travel
- have a minimum GPA of 2.5 to 3.0

All Non Degree Students are eligible to apply.
Considerations for Seniors:
- Seniors who go abroad during their last semester may not graduate on schedule due to foreign academic dates and/or the amount of time it takes to receive transcripts from foreign host institutions and post those grades
