The mission of International Student & Scholar Services ( ISSS) is to support and enhance the academic, cultural, and social experience of all international students and scholars at the University of South Florida. ISSS is dedicated to offering excellence in service and serves as the primary link between international students/scholars and the university, the community, and the federal government.
ISSS services:
- Advise international students and scholars regarding personal, immigration/visa, academic, social, and acculturation issues.
- Promote awareness, understanding, and compliance with regard to federal immigration regulations and university policies.
- Inform international students and scholars about upcoming events via email, our listserv and the ISSS web site.
- Plan workshops on employment issues, cultural adjustment, reentry issues, career planning, and other topics.
- Develop, plan, conducts, and implement orientation programs for new students and scholars.
- Consult with the International Student Leadership Council (ISLC) on issues of importance and concern to international students and scholars. The council consists of representatives of international student organizations.
- Collaborate with other USF departments to promote cross-cultural understanding and to provide quality service to international students and scholars.
