*Job Description: Restaurant Magic Software is looking for a limited number of interns to fill Software Implementation Assistant. These internship positions will provide excellent insight into our overall business operations, the restaurant industry, and the mechanics of a software company. Each intern will be exposed to a variety of roles throughout the internship including, but not limited to: software configuration, data manipulation, customer support, general problem solving , and software assurance.

Our product is Data Central – a restaurant management software that integrates into any POS system and provides the necessary data for a company to more effectively operate their restaurants from all levels of the organization. We assist in payroll, inventory, and accounting operations, and provide hundreds of reports on key performance indicators. Our motto is “the right information, in the right hands, at the right time.” We believe that by providing owners and managers with different levels and views of all of their data, they can easily analyze how the business is doing and where changes need to be made. Qualifications: We prefer candidates with a mix of restaurant and technology experience. Students in the school of Hospitality management should have an interest in the technological aspect of restaurant operations. If you are an MIS or IT major with restaurant experience, particularly managerial duties, we would like to hear from you. Please note that these are not a requirements, but are certainly beneficial qualities.

The skills and qualifications for the internship positions include:
- GPA of at least 3.0
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to quickly learn new software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Database, C#, website skills a plus
- Experience working in a restaurant a major plus

Our internship positions are for six months and each intern will receive a letter of recommendation and/or documentation needed for school credit (must be approved by department in advance). Interns typically earn an honoraria for excellent performance during training, and an hourly wage thereafter. Exceptional performance may lead to a permanent placement opportunity.

Required:
1-2 years experience in a media/market research co., preferably in a technology, research or operations department
1-2 years of working with statistical software packages such as SAS, SPSS and/or Oracle/SQL
Minimum BS in behavioral sciences, statistics, mathematics, technical or a related field
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

Planning & Development Services Business Center is seeking an individual who has experience using Process Modeling software to create process maps reflecting our current workflow.  It is imperative that we combine those steps that are the same to ensure efficiency throughout our workflow.  We have approximately 306 processes that we need to be mapped.  This individual will need to be detail oriented, deadline oriented, organized, outspoken, able to work with all levels of staff from receptionists to executives, able to handle all types of personalities, must be approachable, aggressive enough to stay focused, confident enough to gather all necessary information from the process owners to reflect the workflow properly, able to create process maps using Process Model software. 

Two students were placed in the internship over the summer.  They said they learned a great deal in a very positive working environment.
