COMMENCEMENT AND CONVOCATION COMMITTEE
Reports to the Provost

Charge: The Commencement and Convocation Committee is responsible for advising the President, the Provost, the Vice Provost for Faculty and Program Development, and other appropriate university administrators on matters pertaining to Tampa campus commencements and convocations; for providing assistance in the planning and executing these ceremonies; for acting as the marshal corps for the ceremonies; and for disseminating information about commencements and convocations to units being represented. Appointed by the Provost.

GENERAL EDUCATION COUNCIL

ChargeThe General Education Council is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and assessment of an effective general education program.  Responsibilities include the evaluation and approval of courses for the liberal arts curriculum, a well as the periodic evaluation of the general education policy.  The council shall advise the President, the Provost, and the Dean of Undergraduate Studies on the development of future general education programs at the university and provide continuous assessment of the general education.Appointed by the Faculty Senate.

Responsibilities include the evaluation of courses for the liberal arts curriculum, as well as the periodic evaluation of the general education policy and other existing or proposed programs. The council shall advise the President, the Provost, and the Dean of Undergraduate Studies on the development of future undergraduate programs at the university and shall aid them in developing, reviewing and updating the university's statement of academic goals and objectives. Appointed by the Provost.
